Individualized medicine
Individualized medicine aims to implement prevention measures, diagnostics, early diagnosis, and disease therapy based on patients' individual needs. New examination methods, new forms of data collection and analysis as well as individual risk factor and prognosis profiles are enhancing established clinical and imaging techniques for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. As a result, we should be able to predict individual risks of disease more accurately, avoid unwanted side-effects and inefficient therapeutic strategies, and identify new opportunities for early diagnosis and prevention of diseases as well as new therapeutic approaches.
